The default message on the tool tips for past events is ‘We’re sorry. Either an error occurred or the event(s) you were attempting to register for may no longer be open for registration.’

Where can I get shot of the ‘error’ because there isn’t one, it’s just a past event. It really just needs to say ‘the event(s) you were attempting to register for may no longer be open for registration.’

Thanks

Hi Nicholas,

Which version of the Calendar are you currently using?

Is the past event open for registration still? Look Event Overview, find the event, what is the ‘status’ of the event?

Hi Tony

I’ve got version 2.0.6.3. of the calendar.

The status of the event is closed in the events overview tab, I set the registration to run up to the time of the event. But it still shows on the calendar overview.

Hi Nicholas,

It sounds like there are add to cart links in the closed event’s description. You can make it so these do not display in the calendar tooltip by placing a more tag just before the add to cart shortcut. It will look like this:

<!--more-->
[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK]

I think the page issues I’ve been having might be related to the expired events error in the calendar. It has been causing me all kinds of formatting errors (titles jumping into the header, columns losing their widths etc) – I then changed the date to one in the future and the page was fine again. I posted something about this elsewhere because everyone assumed it was CSS or plugin related.

I will add the more tag and then the cart link to see if this clears the message. Thx

Hi

Ok by adding the tag above the cart and changing the template display setting the error has gone. I’ve found that these expired calendar events is the potential root of this issue: http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/event-calendar-add-on-is-causing-page-reflow-and-formatting-issues/#post-67794

It’s actually having an add to cart link in the description of the expired event that’s causing the issue.
