Hi there,

Sorry… basic question – my brain is fried :-0

I need a calendar to show the two categories below – how do I put in the shortcodes? (I’m afraid to break anything…)

[EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”musical-toddlers-1390905827″]
[EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”musical-babies-1390905807″]

Thanks!
Rachel

Hi Clare,

You can use the ‘event_category_id’ parameter on the calendar:

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”your_category_identifier”]

So in your examples…

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”musical-toddlers-1390905827″]

&

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”musical-babies-1390905807″]

Each of those Calendars will display only the events within their category.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks Tony – what I’m not clear is how to display both in the one calendar – do I put a comma between the ‘event_category_id’ parameter?

Hi Clare,

Currently the calendar can only display a single category. As the events themselves can have multiple categories with no issues, you could create another ‘parent’ category and use that category to display those events.

So for example, create a category such as ‘Musical Baby and Toddler Events’ both types of events go in their own category AND this category. Use the ‘Musical Baby and Toddler Events’ category to display all the events use the calendar.

Does that make sense?
