I am having trouble using the pre-release calendar. I have used the shortcode for the calendar successfully on other pages however the calendar on the homepage is failing to load. The calendar appears in the markup but the calendar is not displaying.

Hi Alex,

The script isn’t loading which is why it isn’t appearing.

There don’t seem to be any javascript issues, so the only conclusion I can currently make is that it does not like the parallax style page.

Can you try adding the shortcode to a standard page and see if it appears or not?

I have added it to other pages with no problems. The current version of the plugin works with on our parallax style page but the pre-release doesn’t. I have switched to the pre-release as the current version did not display the calendar correctly.

We are demonstrating functionality of the site this afternoon so I am going to switch back to the old version temporarily so that there is at least something there.

Hi Alex,

OK, so it is the parallax that’s causing the issue. I’ll do some testing with a parallax theme and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for letting me know that the current release works ok, that will help.

Can you please let me know your findings and any fixes if any as we need a version of the calendar that works on our parallax theme asap.

Hi Alex,

I haven’t as yet found a theme that matches yours directly. Is it possible to get a copy of your theme for testing purposes? You can send it to support @ eventespresso . com, but please link to this forum thread.

Hi,

Thanks for that. I couldn’t make much sense of how the theme loads the panels, perhaps I’m missing a plugin, but when referring back to your site it appears the calendar JavaScript is now loading correctly. Can you confirm that this is the case?

No I am currently using the old version of the plugin which does not display correctly as it loads all the events on the wrong dates. I wish to use the new version as that particular bug has been fixed however I am unable to get the new version to load on our parallax theme.

It is very important that we can get either version of the calendar displaying correctly on our theme’s home page as it is a core part of the site.

OK Alex, that explains that. I am going to need login details to examine the site ina bit more detail, as mentioned I couldn’t get the theme you provided to function like your site is.

Please send them via http://staging.eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level and FTP details are appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for the login details. Looking at your settings I finally realised how the theme works.

However, I have been unable to find out the exact nature of the issue. The theme is calling the calendar via a do_shortcode() which is fine, it works in other themes, so there must be something else underlying that is causing the javascript to not load.

I would refer back to the developer in respect to this as they will need to bug hunt for the reason the javascript isn’t loading.
