Before purchasing this product, would like to check we can handle the following scenario. We would like to be able to offer people registering for an event, the option to bring a friend for free. In practice this means 2 for the price of 1. I’d like when they register to be able to enter both attendees, but still allow them to only enter one attendee if they aren’t bringing someone. How do you handle this scenario?
Also, we are going to be giving away complimentary tickets in our campaigns. We’d like to send the person a special link in an email back to the event page, where they choose which event they would like to attend and proceed to booking. I envisage the url would just contain a discount code? Because they used the special url sent to them during the campaign, the tickets will be offered at $0. Can you please advise how we would handle this.
Depending on whether or not you need to keep track of attendee numbers and the structure of the event there are a couple of options. You can assign extra ‘questions’ to an event requesting the addition attendees details, these could then be left blank for single attendees. (This does not track the extra attendee numbers)
To track the attendee numbers (including additional) you could use a ‘coupon code’ so in effect the user registers 2 attendee’s but you setup a Coupon code with 50% off, lets say ‘BRINGAFRIEND’ to discount the second attendee price.
We have a Beta Add-on called the Volume Discount Add-on which will automatically discount a set amount when a set amount of tickets are purchased (depending on settings). Effectively the same as above only automatically discounted when they select 2 tickets.
Regarding complimentary tickets, currently a URL containing a coupon code would not work. You can however include a Coupon code in the email they can manually enter onto the event themselves to make the event free.
Please let us know if you have any further questions
