I have a small problem that I hope is easily resolved.

I would like the listings in the event widget in my side bar to have a bullet before each event.

>Just
>Like
>This

I don’t actually want the “>” sign, I’m using an Artisteer template and the “>” bullet is a little image.

Thanks

Ged

Hello There, You could use a :before Pseudo Element in your CSS.

Something like this:

 /** Add bullet to list in widget. **/
    .widget-area .widget p:before {
        content: ">";
        padding: 5px;
    }

Hi Jonathan

Thanks for that, I have tried adding that to both the My Custom CSS widget and also directly into the template css and neither seem to work.

Do you have any other suggestions or know why that might be?

Thanks

Ged

Have you tried adding it to the theme’s style.css?

Yes I tried both, I added it to the style.css when it didn’t work in the My Custom CSS plugin

Ah, Artisteer templates are a little different.

You should be able to use this code instead:

.art-blockcontent-body p:before {
    content: ">";
    padding: 5px;
}

Of course, you can change > to whatever you want.

Thanks for that.

If I want it to show a bullter that is an image do I need to put the location of the image or just the name of the image?

You can try this:

.art-blockcontent-body p:before {
        content: " ";
        background-image: url(image/path/here.png);
        padding: 0px;
    }

You’ll probably need to adjust the padding.
