I really like the look of the EE plugin for a Gym Website I am setting up. WP has many “Booking” plug-ins and I have looked at most of them. I was in fact badly advised on another product so here goes with my requirements:

The “Events” will be fitness classes i.e. Aerobics, Spin Class, Body Pump, etc. All with have a different number of spaces and durations. This is I think what makes EE unique in its ability to handle these variations.

Only users registered by the GYM admin in WP can book a “class” registration will not be offered through EE. So there is no Fee for the classes or ticket to be sent to the attendee. Being a member of the gym is the only prerequisite.

The calendar looks great and gives a wonderful overview of what’s available but could the user also look for specific events i.e. Aerobics, Abs, etc.

That’s pretty much it. A prompt response would be most helpful.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Keith Whalen.

      Hi Keith,

Only users registered by the GYM admin in WP can book a “class”

We have the WP User Integration which allows you to set all events to be ‘Member Only’. We do not however handle any form of memberships, a member in this case is any user that is logged in.

registration will not be offered through EE. So there is no Fee for the classes or ticket to be sent to the attendee

So I’m assuming you will be using Event Espresso primarily to manage the attendee list for each class? If so this is no issue.

Being a member of the gym is the only prerequisite.

A quick example to elaborate a little more, if a user views your ‘Event List’ page all events will look similar to: http://d.pr/i/Z4gu

If they view an actual event: http://d.pr/i/cgdb

Then once logged in the events list will display: http://d.pr/i/KeBN
*The above example is also using the Multi Event Registration Add-on for the ‘Add to cart’ feature

      Actual events will display: http://d.pr/i/KB2y

The calendar looks great and gives a wonderful overview of what’s available but could the user also look for specific events i.e. Aerobics, Abs, etc.

We are about to release a new version of the calendar with filter functions.
So if you categorize the events each with their own category (Aerobics or Abs for example), they can select this from a dropdown within the calendar to display only the event in that category. http://d.pr/i/sYli

It is available for download as a Beta Add-on currently but is due for full release soon.

        Hi Tony,

Many thanks for a prompt and detailed reply. That settles it for me I’ll be purchasing EE for my customers site.

Any idea when the Filter function will be released for the calendar?

        Regards,

        Keith.

        Hi Keith,

As Tony mentioned, you can get a Beta copy now from our Pre Release channel, but we are hoping to get the next Calendar add on out shortly, along with some other updates and plugins. I can’t give an exact time scale as we are still doing final testing but we are hoping sooner rather than later.
