Hi, I’m trying to setup registration for weekly classes. I’d like to setup one event where the user has a choice of dates with associated time for a class. The program is 10 classes long, and I’d like users to be able to select a day to take a class, either monday 5:30-6:30, tuesday 4:30 – 5:30, etc. The classes should only be able to be purchased all 10 at a time for a set price. Would the recurring events plugin be the best way to set this up? the schedule I am trying to create can be seen here: http://www.fairfieldperformingartsstudio.com/programs/studio-classes/ On another note, its very frustrating not to be able to see posts regarding the recurring events plugin in this forum before purchasing it. This information would be very helpful to me to guide my decision to make the purchase or not. Thanks for your help,

We set up weekly classes as single events, rather than recurring events, and that worked for us. We offer classes on a quarterly basis, so the class description shows the start and end date for the quarter. However, you would not see the class show up on a calendar as you would expect (e.g. each Wednesday, a class that displays week 1 of 10, at 5:30 or whatever time) unless you program a custom event calendar. If you use the recurring events manager, I think the calendar will look right, but I found the whole setup and interface to be confusing doing it that way because we offer many classes in one day. Hope that helps! http://www.compassclasses.com
I think I would use the Recurring Events Manager to create a schedule of recurring classes, but then in Event Espresso for each subsequent event after the first, use the Alternate Registration page (http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/setting-up-event-espresso/#event) field (Event Options) to enter the URL of the first event. That way all registrations are controlled and stored in the first event.
