Is there a way to automatically create a waitlist event?  Specifically, I could benefit from two options:

1) A button on the Event Overview page that automatically creates a duplicate of an event, appends WAITLIST to the end of the event title, makes it’s status ‘waitlist’, and links the original event to new waitlist event.   Basically, a tool to automate about 5 steps we usually do manually.

2) A trigger that automatically does the steps above for any event that reaches a certain percentage capacity.  We would want to be able to set whether or not a waitlist event should be auto-created, and perhaps at what point – either by remaining seat count or by percentage.

If these don’t exist, please add them to the new feature requests!  And if I’m just missing them somewhere (perhaps because I haven’t upgraded my version in a while?), please let me know where to find them.

Also, if I wanted to edit the Event Overview admin page to add such a button, which files would I need to change?  Can I put my overridden files for that page in the uploads directory?

Finally, I would love to see the Transfer Attendee feature added, as well, so that we can pull people from wait lists onto real events.

Thanks!

Laura

Hi,

Right now we have nothing like what you are asking for. I can certainly add them to the feature request list, but 99.9% of features are on hold until 4.0 is out and caffeinated (ie all add ons etc are compatible and working)

I would suggest having a look at the Pros page and see if you can get some customisations done. http://staging.eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/

If you were to do it yourself, then you would be looking across several files. I would start in the event-espresso/includes directory, especially the event-management section and the functions section.

Regarding the transfer attendee feature, we actually have something in the pipeline regarding that. I thought it was ready for beta release but it seems not, I am chasing up the devs on that to see what is happening.
