what happens to attendees once the event they registered for is deleted?  do attendees live somewhere in wp?  it’d be sweet if attendees where added to wp’s user base. any plans for that in 4.1?

The attendee data is stored in wp_events_attendee and wp_events_answer. If you delete the events, the attendee to events relationships will be gone, so if you need that information it would be best to not delete the events. Or you could keep an archive.

There aren’t plans to move the attendee event data into the WP user table because Event Espresso doesn’t require a WP user account to register for an event.
