URGENT

When I process a payment for an attendee paypal redirects to the thank you page which then tries to redirect back to paypal…

The attendee doesn’t get updated to confirmed even though the payment went through.

I’ve tried all your suggestions on other forum posts and I’m using the theme provided by you.

I’ve had several problems now and it’s getting quite frustrating. What is the process for refunds?

This is the url a user gets returned to http://example.com/thank-you/?r_id=1-50a07390e11c6&type=paypal&tx=1J512625W29916645F&st=Completed&amt=0.01&cc=NZD&cm&item_number

And on this page is:

enter image description here

No thank you or confirmation.

Hi there,

It looks like in order to access this site, one would need to log in first. If that’s the case, the PayPal Instant payment notification will not be able to reach the transactions page and update the payment status. Can you set up the transactions page to be publicly viewable (without a log in) and run a test transaction?

The transaction page is publicly viewable and i have done multiple tests.

Hi Myles,

Can you post a link to the transaction page so we can test? If not, can you send it via our contact form?

http://staging.eventespresso.com/contact/

Please select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form.

No problem

That page isn’t viewable from our end. When we try to visit that page, we get an apache lockdown screen that asks us for a username and password. Since it’s locked down in this way, your site will not be able to receive the PayPal Instant Payment Notification.

Ok, with paypal IPN do I have to set this up or is it passed through via the payment form?

I have a paypal account but I use it for multiple things. Do i need a completely new account that will be specifically for this website?

And set up the IPN to direct to the transactions page?

It wouldn’t be necessary to set up a new account with PayPal as long as that account supports Instant Payment Notifications. Personal accounts will not have the IPN option. If you’re logged into your PayPal account, you can check and verify that the IPN option is enabled, and a URL needs to be provided for the IPN listener. You can use the above linked URL for the IPN listener.
