We are running WP 3.6.1 with the following plugins: Calendar, Members Addon, Multi-Event Reg, Permissions, Recurring Events, Ticketing, Session Manager.

Is there a setting I am missing to have apostrophe’s not come across via email as \'

Or, do I need to implement a fix such as this one:

Hi,

Which version of Event Espresso are you currently using?

The fix you linked to was added to Event Espresso almost 3 years ago. I’ve not seen apostrophes get escaped in emails in any testing. It may help to know more information about where the apostrophes are in the content of the email so we can narrow down the issue.

Can you check and let us know whether the single quote/apostrophe is part of the general email content, coming from an email shortcode, the subject line, or somewhere else?

Hopefully this will make sense (sorry for the vagueness, but I was literally pulled onto this project on Tuesday as the main developer left the country for a month long vacation — just getting familiar with EventEspresso)

And, this may even be a customized page that was written by the developer — not sure if this is Event Espresso default …

It’s on the Send Invites page … we select a meeting then if the user chooses to Send a Custom Invite, and they enter apostrophe’s into the body of the custom invite field. When those aprostophe’s come through via email, they are coming across as the encoded form.

Hi there,

This sounds like something that was custom built. Event Espresso doesn’t have a send invites feature. It might help to compare what’s there to a fresh copy of Event Espresso. The part that was added ( hopefully in an add-on and not added somewhere in the core Event Espresso plugin ) will likely benefit from the same fix discussed in the old forum thread you linked to.
