I am trying to use EE with the seating add-on to sell booths for an event.
Some vendors paid in advance a certain amount, so I have to accommodate for that.
I tried using discounts codes for the amount they payed but that’s not possible because:
– discount codes don’t apply to seated events.
– discount system fails if the discount is bigger than the price of a ticket (booth in my case).
I tried another method:
Have the vendors choose their booths but not complete payments, than manually go and add the amount they already payed in their payment record, then invoice them with the amount owed.
The invoice shows the right amount owed, but once they click on the link and go to the payment overview page, they get the full price.
Currently Event Espresso does not support partial payments, which is why the data they are seeing is the full amount.
The only real way to do it is to add new email shortcodes, which is kind of a hack but it may work.
Here is an example for the email.php file, however, it has not been tested and is merely an example so use at your own risk, and we also cannot support the modification.
I will add a note on our feature request list for a partial payment system.
