I’ve looked through the forums but not seen exactly this problem. I would enjoy the auto-create/update feature if it worked as it should, by dropping the contents of the original event description into the blog post, and updating whenever I made a change. But I need to figure out why nothing is showing up in the post at all.
What version of Event Espresso are you using? Are you using the custom post type feature or are you pushing events to regular blog posts? Is it just the update action that does this or do new events create blank posts as well?
I’m using 3.1.22.2 with the calendar, recurring events, members, and permissions add-ons (all up to date.) All I know is that I click “yes” next to the “Add/Update New Post?” I get a blank post even the first time, when I create the event or when I first check the “yes” box.
Hi, You are using an old version of Event Espresso and I would strongly advise you to update, many new features and bug fixes have been added since that version. It looks like the issue you are facing was fixed in 3.1.24 “Standard WP post content missing after updating an event if the CPT feature is disabled” It’s not an exact match for your problem but looks closely related. I have tested the posts in the latest version of Event espresso and there is no problem with creating posts from events.
Thanks, Dean. I’ve now updated. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
No problem, let me know if the issue persists.
I have confirmation – updated the event and now the post works exactly as it should, with a map and links to the registration page. Woot!
