Hello! When I create an event that uses multiple pricing levels, and also allows more than one person to register, is it possible to let each separate attendee select their pricing level?

For example, a conference event has a ticket prices for (a) general admission, (b) students, and (c) seniors. So, as it now stands, when three people sign up, they all get the same price. I’d like to allow one get the student price, one get the senior price, and one the general price. Is this possible?

Hi John,

In order to do that, you will need the Multiple Event Registration add-on, that is included in the Business and Developer license packages, or can be purchased separately with the Personal license package. It will allow your customers to register multiple people to different ticket types.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. I’ll be happy to answer them.

Cool, thanks! I tried this, and it seems to work pretty well, but, what should happen when there is a promo code for the event?

I have a promo code that is supposed to discount 100% of the price (essentially free admission). But this no longer seems to work with multiple registration. The promo code causes the price field to “refresh” but the actual amount never changes. Am I missing something?

Hi John,

Is it possible for you to link us to the site so we can take a look?

Sure, thanks for looking into it. Here is the staging site: http://prsawis.normandesign.net/

Add the event “PRSA Pro Day” then view your cart. Select any number of attendees. Enter the promo code ‘test12345’ (without quotes). The code is a 100% discount, and it is global.

All events are set to accept all promo codes, even non-global ones.

…Thank you! I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Go ahead and update to 3.1.36.4.P. It fixes an issue with global promo codes and the shopping cart, which may be what you are experiencing.

Awesometastic. That did the job. Thanks!

Sorry, I spoke to soon. The promo code only partially works. It applies a 100% discount, regardless of what the promo code is actually worth. For example, if you try the above steps, then enter ‘test456’ you should get a $25.00 discount. But in fact you can sign up unlimited attendees and the price always comes out to zero. Any ideas?

For the time being, we decided to shelve the promo codes feature. For our purposes it’s really not that important and the client can do without it, for at least the next couple months. I have more urgent issues to work on for now. So, if this continues to be an issue I will contact you for support. I appreciate your attention and help on this, thanks!
