Is there a way to do it? | Event Espresso - Staging Server
Hope to export attendee information from EE events in order to insert the attendees into a training system that implements the actual events. The problem is associating the EE event with the correct training system event. First attempt was meta tags to hold the other systems event id. But the tags don’t export as far as I can tell. The other system is pretty well sealed so can’t add the EE id to their version of the event. Any suggestions? I’m a programmer by trade although PHP is new to me. Thanks.
Not easily no. Right now the only way would be to hack at one of the core files to force the data into the spreadsheet on export.
I will certainly add this to our feature request list, as I am hoping in the future we will have time and resources to create a reports add on that will have more options and features.
I will try to match multiple information points in the export, for example event name and start date, against the other system. Not as clean and simplistic as desired but for now should work fine as a practical matter.
EE seems to me to be have unusual ease of use and value for the money although as a programmer I can easily visualize how it is getting harder and harder to just bolt on new features as the product grows. I will say only that being able to fill the gaps in other software, like the training system I mentioned, would be a good area to gorw the product.
Thanks for the feedback. We are working to better Event Espresso as a whole. That is why Event Espresso is being totally rewritten from the ground up for version 4.0. It will be a much cleaner and easier to customize plugin.
Let us know if we can help with anything else.
