One of the “events” we are adding needs to allow the user to pick their own date (e.g. private instruction where user sets when). What do you suggest as the best way to accomplish this?

Hello Greg,

I can see two options here.

1) Use Recurring Events Manager (REM) add on to create an event for each day/working day. The users can then select the date they want. You could either have a question field requesting the time the user wants, or set this via the event times option.

2) Create one event where the event date is far in the future, and the end registration date is also far in the future. You may need to hide the date of this event. The customers would select date and time by using the questions fields.

Both systems have their pros and cons, as Event Espresso wasnt specifically designed as a booking system.

Note: there is an option in the General settings to use attendee limits one time slots, which may be useful, but it is experimental so use at your own risk.
