hello i’m working on letting Event Manager Role (using permissions pro)
to be able to add an event, but want limit the edit fields that are there by default
i was wondering if i can use a plugin like this to http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/ to:
1. create a secondary add an event edit screen but still have it create an Event in EE dashboard
or
2. Create a custom post type that i can later manually or automatically (somehow?)
convert into an event in EE.
Custom Post Type support is coming soon with Event Espresso 4. We’ve tested ACF with it and it works. I’d recommend signing up for access to our GitHub repo so you can integrate ACF right out of the box:
ACF doesn’t work with Event Espresso 3.x mostly because events in 3.x are not custom post types. Much of the work that has gone into Event Espresso 4 was involved with converting events to be custom post types, which will help allow for more extensibility.
