Which solution? There was one that Matt posted, and one I posted.
Also, where did you write the changes to? In /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways, or the core plugin?
If in the core plugin, copy the invoice folder over to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways and then be sure to deactivate and reactivate the invoice payment option after making the changes.
The one Matt posted. I made the change and it didn’t seem to take.
I made the changes to the core, so I will move those over. That makes sense. But I noticed there was nothing in the Gateways folder at all. Does that mean something is wrong?
I copied them over in their entirety. Hopefully that does the trick!
If you find that nothing is changing on the invoice after making a change to the template, note that you’ll need to download a newly generated invoice. Invoices that were already generated before the changes were made will not dynamically change. You can verify if the invoice you’re looking at is using the updated changes by changing something else obvious, like a text string in the invoice template.
