is there any way for an attendee to
1. cancel their own reservation. If so can we not allow cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled event
2. modify a reservation date and or time to another date / time?
Any work arounds if no?

With the Members add-on, you can use the [ESPRESSO_MY_EVENTS] to display the logged in user’s events they are registered for. They can cancel their registrations there, but there isn’t functionality to limit the cancellations to not allow them within 24 hours.
We are working on an add-on that will allow you to transfer users to a different event. This will need to be done manually by the site admin or event manager. This add-on has not been released yet and I do not have an ETA at this time.
